BREAKING NEWS: Newcastle United Big Summer Target Finally Revealed

A big summer is expected at Newcastle United.

While the January transfer window was a frustrating period for the club due to FFP restrictions, that may not be the case this summer.

Indeed, iNews reported last month that Newcastle fans may expect a significant summer rebuild as PIF looks to invest even more money in Eddie Howe’s side.

Given the frustrating nature of this season, this is a significant plus.

Now we have some idea of who Newcastle might target.

Newcastle transfers: Latest news

According to The Chronicle, Newcastle has a strong interest in three Bournemouth players.

Matt Ritchie, Callum Wilson, Ryan Fraser, and Howe have all taken the journey from the Vitality Stadium to St James’ Park recently.

Dominic Solanke is once again mentioned as a potential target in this report, following his January move. However, the Cherries are expected to want for up to £50 million for their forward.

Meanwhile, Philip Billing is thought to be on the radar, albeit he may come at a “hefty fee”. Finally, defender Lloyd Kelly is reported to be of interest, but may be the subject of a bidding battle, with up to ten Premier League clubs Everyone’s interested.

Interestingly, the story adds that Newcastle spoke with Bournemouth about potential costs during the January window.

Newcastle transfer news: Rebuild needed

Whether or not those three players are the correct fit for Newcastle is debatable. Talented as they are, merely adding Bournemouth players does not appear to be a cohesive approach, especially given how good recruitment has been during the PIF era up to this point.

Still, it’s clear that a rebuild is necessary. Newcastle have lacked attractive options off the bench and could lose Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton, Miguel Almiron, and Callum Wilson this summer.

Hopefully, June will be better than January.
