JUST IN: Newcastle United Now Set To Complete Deal For 25-Year Old Star

Newcastle United are apparently willing to pay the high-profile release clause of a “very interesting” player this summer, with other Premier League clubs also interested.

Newcastle transfer news

The Magpies and PIF have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks, as Eddie Howe tries to add to his team at the end of the season. That is, providing the Englishman is still in command at St James’ Park at the time. However, with pressure mounting on him following some disappointing results, Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim is being considered as a possible replacement.

Juventus and Italy winger Federico Chiesa has been linked with a move to Newcastle, and if a deal is completed, he could be an exciting addition to their assault.

Meanwhile, Newcastle have been linked with a transfer for versatile Barcelona defender Jules Kounde, as the club seeks to bring in younger players at a time when members of the backline such as Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schar, and Dan Burn are all in their 30s.

The Magpies have also reportedly dispatched scouts to observe talented young Boca Juniors midfielder Kevin Zenon in action, indicating that they will not be short on options ahead of the summer transfer window.

Newcastle willing to pay Takefusa Kubo’s release clause

According to a source from Spain [via Caught Offside], Newcastle are willing to pay Real Sociedad’s €60 million (£51.3 million) release clause for Takefusa Kubo this summer, regarding him as a top signing possibility.

Real Madrid is also in the picture, lurking ominously as they strive to develop a great roster in the coming years, maybe including Kylian Mbappe and Alphonso Davies. The Japan international was at the club before departing to join Sociedad, and a return could be on the cards.

Fellow Premier League giants Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City are also named, emphasising Kubo’s status.

If Newcastle can beat rival clubs to his signature in the summer, the 22-year-old may be a fantastic signing, having contributed 10 goals (seven goals and three assists) in 19 La Liga appearances this season. In reality, footballing great and former Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has already spoken highly of him, saying:

“I believe he is having a good season. He’s been playing a lot, which is exactly what we all wanted. He is a really interesting player, both now and in the future. I’m glad he is doing well. Of course, if he stayed at home tomorrow, that would be ideal.”

It may be difficult for Newcastle to sign their man, but the finances may be there for PIF to spend heavily, since the Magpies’ owners appear to mean business. Kubo is a right-sided forward who can also play in central offensive positions, so he could be a different alternative than the players now available, hooking up efficiently with those around him.
