Newcastle United Now Set To Sign 22-year-old Star

He’s a new target for the Magpies this summer.

Newcastle United are interested in recruiting a “incredible” Premier League star during the summer transfer window, with his current club valued at £60 million.

Newcastle in need of new attackers

This season, the Magpies have often been frustrated in attack because to Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson’s ongoing injury troubles. They have only made 24 league starts between them in 2023/24, emphasising their lack of involvement.

As a result, Isak (11) is the only Newcastle player to have scored double digits in the league this season, and additional firepower will be required when the summer transfer window opens.

Juventus winger Federico Chiesa, for example, has been tipped to travel to St James’ Park over a prospective summer transfer from his present club. A direct and powerful wide winger, the Euro 2020 winner with Italy has 51 goal contributions (29 goals and 22 assists) in 117 appearances for Juve, demonstrating the potential he might bring to Eddie Howe’s squad.

Real Sociedad ace Takefusa Kubo has also been linked with a summer move to Newcastle, with the Japanese primarily a right-sided offensive player who can also excel in a centre role. The 22-year-old has seven goals in 19 La Liga appearances this season and might be deemed an upgrade above Miguel Almiron if he leaves at the end of the season.

According to a recent report from The Daily Mail, Pedro Neto has surfaced as a new target for Newcastle this summer, though Wolves are unlikely to let him go cheaply as they seek to raise finances for their own FFP difficulties.

In reality, the source adds that “a fee of around £60 million would be required to complete a deal” at the end of the season, and Liverpool is also “interested” in the Portuguese winger. While Chiesa and Kubo are enticing options, Neto is Newcastle’s top aim in the summer transfer window. The Wolves star is probably one of the most sought-after Premier League players outside of the usual big clubs, and his performance this season exemplifies his greatness.

According to Gary O’Neil, the 23-year-old has nine assists in just 17 league starts, and his dribbling ability and final pass are a terror for defenders.

“He has been absolutely fantastic for the six or seven weeks I’ve been here. I am quite delighted with Pedro’s current situation. He has given his all and demonstrated a high level of quality [at Luton], which sums up his performance for me over the last six weeks.”

Neto is already familiar with the Premier League, so he won’t have trouble adjusting to Newcastle, and at his age, he should still have a lot to offer. Injuries have been an issue, which makes signing him a bit risky, but the benefits far exceed the drawback.
