According to Sky Sport Italia journalist Manuele Baiocchini, Milan is not happy to face Roma in the Europa League quarter-finals since the Rossoneri hoped to avoid ‘Liverpool and an Italian team.’
Milan and Roma will compete in the Europa League quarterfinals. The opening leg will be contested at San Siro on April 11, with the second leg taking place at the Stadio Olimpico the following week.
According to Sky Sport Italia correspondent Manuele Baiocchini, Milan players and staff members watched the draw live at Milanello after returning from a 3-1 victory over Slavia Praha on Thursday night.
According to the writer, Milan would not be completely satisfied with the draw since they wanted to avoid “two things”: “Liverpool and an Italian club.”
The other Serie A club, Atalanta, was matched with the Reds, who are considered the favourites to win the Europa League this season.
Daniele Massaro, a former Milan striker and current brand ambassador, told Sky Sport Italia from Nyon that the Rossoneri were aware they could face another Italian side, but they “know” Roma well.
