Newcastle United man issues strong warning to club

Newcastle United may have a “difficult” summer transfer window, according to Eddie Howe, as they look to bolster their squad.

Unless they can unload players, the club will have to stretch a very little transfer budget under the current Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes have been linked to leave the squad this summer, but Howe has recently declared that he plans to keep the two players and build his team around them.

While there has been speculation regarding Guimaraes’ future throughout the season, with Paris Saint-Germain among his potential suitors, Isak has scored 19 goals this season and has been connected with Arsenal, among other clubs.

This season has highlighted the importance of adding excellent players to the roster in order to enhance it and ensure that injuries do not leave the starting lineup lacking depth.

According to Howe, it may be a ‘tough’ window to navigate: “It’s going to be a difficult summer.” Howe admitted, according to The Athletic.

“Not to say what positions we want to improve, because I would have my idea where I want to take the team, but there are a lot of unknown factors going into the summer so it’s going to be quite difficult to prepare for what’s going to happen.”

Newcastle United have spent heavily under PIF

Newcastle has made substantial purchases under new ownership in the two summer transfer windows since taking over the club.

However, they and many other top-tier teams will be careful not to splurge this summer for fear of losing points for violating PSR restrictions.

Changes to the current system may be adopted in June, affecting the type of business they can conduct.

Howe will be hoping for success next season with Newcastle

Following their poor performance this season, Newcastle’s manager will be trying to resurrect his club for next season.

They would like to repeat their success from previous season, when they qualified for the Champions League.
