BREAKING NEWS: Newcastle Now Confident of Signing 24-Year-Old Superstar

Newcastle United are looking to sign Crystal Palace and England central defender Marc Guehi before the end of the summer transfer window, and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, speaking exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, has revealed that there is a ‘concrete chance’ of the deal happening, with the 24-year-old ‘keen’ to move.

Eddie Howe and his team have been very quiet in the transfer market, signing only William Osula, Lloyd Kelly, John Ruddy, Odysseas Vlachodimos, and Lewis Hall in order to qualify for the Champions League next season. A new centre-back is still on the agenda, but Guehi has emerged as the best alternative.

Previously admired by Arne Slot’s Liverpool, the English defender’s Euro 2024 campaign has seen him surge up several potential buyers’ shortlists, with Newcastle emerging as the frontrunners for his signing.

Romano, writing on X (previously Twitter), recently stated that the Magpies are growing in confidence that they can complete the deal, with conversations continuing as all 20 Premier League teams approach the end of the transfer period.

Guehi, 24, had an injury-plagued campaign with Crystal Palace last season, appearing in only 29 games across all competitions, but his ball-playing abilities and serenity in control have made him one of Europe’s most sought-after centre-backs.

Newcastle are interested in Guehi’s defensive partner in south London, Joachim Andersen. According to GIVEMESPORT sources, a deal for the Dane might jeopardise their pursuit of their top target, who is eager on a transfer north.

If Guehi, described as a’superstar’ by Steve Parish, joins Newcastle in the coming weeks, he’ll have to compete with Sven Botman and Fabian Schar for a spot in Howe’s back line, but the former’s injury record – particularly last season – may make the Englishman’s move all the more seamless.

Romano: ‘Concrete Chance’ That Guehi Completes Newcastle Move

The player is keen on the move’

When asked if Guehi’s move to St James’ Park was still on the cards, the ever-reliable Romano replied that Newcastle are still in active talks with the goal of finalising a deal by the end of the month.

The transfer insider added that there is a ‘solid likelihood’ of the move taking place in the next weeks, implying that the defender is interested in making the switch. Speaking exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, Romano stated:

“They are still trying, and the negotiations are ongoing. Marc Guehi is interested in making the move, so I believe there is a real probability that he will join Newcastle this summer. So I believe it will be interesting to see what occurs. However, Newcastle remains confident in acquiring Guehi.
