AC Milan’s next striker must have undergone extensive study. Rumours have circulated for some time that the club is looking for a new number nine, and it appears that the forthcoming summer transfer window will be the perfect opportunity.
Milan is currently facing a number of uncertainties, both on and off the pitch. There are still some questions about the current striker possibilities.
To begin, Olivier Giroud’s future remains uncertain; the Rossoneri have presented their terms for a new contract, which would force him to accept reduced playing time, but Giroud is being courted by foreign clubs. Then there’s Luka Jovic, who could have his contract renewed, but there’s no certainty of that.
The one certainty is that the Diavolo will attempt to sign a new 9 in the summer market.
Several names have been linked to the position, the most notable being Joshua Zirkzee and Benjamin Sesko, both of whom the club holds in high regard. However, Corriere dello Sport (via Radio Rossonera) reports that the Diavolo are still interested in Jonathan David and Youssef En-Nesyri.
The Candian has ‘already been given the OK for a transfer’ by his current club, so a move is possible. Alternatively, Milan might make another bid for the Moroccan striker, whom they attempted to sign at the end of last summer.
