Journalist Craig Hope has revealed how Newcastle United’s owners truly feel about Eddie Howe, amid rumours that he could be removed this summer.
Newcastle United may be considering a move for Germany head coach and former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann in order to take the team to the next level, according to reports last night.
Hope, on the other hand, revealed on X last night that Newcastle’s owners completely support Howe and anticipate a busy summer under his guidance.
Newcastle are 100% behind Howe at the moment
Plans for Newcastle’s summer transfer window are already in the works, and with Dan Ashworth out of the picture, Howe is set to have a significant influence on future acquisitions.
Although they haven’t had the best of seasons, with injuries building up and an early Champions League loss, they remain in the race for Europe and have a second quarterfinal to look forward to.
Howe will be eager to establish himself now more than ever, as the pressure has increased following their latest setback, which has dropped them to 10th place in the Premier League.
However, it appears that he will be given another chance to show himself next year, with a much improved squad and the return of Sandro Tonali, who will be like a new signing.
Hope commented on X: “Reiterated today that Eddie Howe is the man Newcastle have invested in and believe in for the long term. Plans are being made for a busy summer.
“This comes after reports of interest in Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann in the German press earlier #nufc” .
Things could change quickly at Newcastle
The owners have complete faith in Howe right now, and it’s encouraging to see them seeking stability in an era when clubs change managers every other month in search of the ideal one.
Having said that, he needs to have a great finish to the season or he’ll be on thin ice heading into the new season and will have to strike the ground running.
There’s still a lot to play for right now, but in a few weeks, they may be out of the FA Cup and slipping further and farther behind in the European race, aiming for a mid-table or bottom-half finish.
That would put the owners’ patience to the test, and it would be intriguing to see how much support they would provide him throughout the summer.
