Despite a dismal season for Newcastle United, Eddie Howe is unlikely to face sacking this summer, according to Football Insider sources.
The Saudi ownership and their colleagues have great expectations for the Magpies, although Howe’s employment is expected to be secure going into the 2024-25 season.
According to sources, the 46-year-old will remain in his job even if Newcastle does not qualify for European competition or win the FA Cup.
Injuries and a demanding fixture schedule with a tiny team have caught up with the Tyneside club.
Newcastle have also been severely hampered by their inability to invest heavily in the 2023-24 season, which has been linked to Financial Fair Play constraints.

Their £55 million recruitment of Italy international Sandro Tonali has backfired so far, with the midfielder suspended for betting rule violations just months into his stay at St James’ Park.
Other signings, such as Harvey Barnes and Lewis Hall, have yet to make a significant impression in the northeast.
Howe’s Newcastle team qualified for the Champions League last season, although they were eliminated in the group round in December.
Despite their dismal recent form, his Magpies are 10th in the Premier League table and are still in contention for European qualification for the following season.
They advanced to the FA Cup quarter-finals by beating Blackburn on penalties on Tuesday (February 27).
Howe’s side will face Wolves on Saturday (2 March) after losing 4-1 away to Arsenal in their last Premier League match.
