J.J. Redick is quite impressed with the Phoenix Suns’ big three of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal.
The only issue is that this trio hasn’t been able to play together frequently due to a series of injuries that have plagued them since the start of the season.
Speaking on “First Take,” Redick cited statistics to demonstrate how outstanding the Suns are when these three guys are healthy.
Unfortunately, that doesn’t happen very often.
“When they’ve been on the court together, they have been a damn good basketball team,” Redick told ESPN.
The Suns are the West’s sixth seed, with a 35-26 record.
They have a 14-9 record when Booker, Durant, and Beal play together.
However, they have only been able to play together for 23 games this season due to unexpected and recurring injuries.
Booker is the latest Suns player to suffer an injury, and he is currently sidelined for seven to ten days due to an ankle condition.
Redick said the injuries are tragic, but not unusual.
Super teams’ rosters are simply not deep enough to withstand the absence of one of its big talents for an extended period of time.
The Suns have managed to get by without their big three, but they want Booker, Durant, and Beal back as soon as possible.
As the postseason approaches, these three players’ health becomes more critical than ever.
