JUST IN: Fabrizio Romano Confirms Newcastle Interest in 24-Year-Old Star

Newcastle United’s options at right wing look a little underwhelming ahead of the new Premier League season.

While Jacob Murphy has been in good form during preseason, Newcastle are allegedly looking for a new acquisition in that position.

Indeed, Miguel Almiron struggled to impress last season and has been linked with a move away for what seems like an eternity, but he now appears to be staying at St James’ Park.

It remains to be unclear whether the club will be able to bolster their wing options while also making a bid for England defender Marc Guehi, with Tyneside officials reportedly irritated by the extent of impact PSR regulations are having on their expenditure. However, several names have been related. Pedro Neto was one, but Chelsea signed the Portuguese winger, which might open the door for Newcastle.

Fabrizio Romano says Newcastle have been keen on Noni Madueke for weeks now

The acclaimed transfer analyst revealed that the former PSV winger might still leave Stamford Bridge if the appropriate offer comes in, adding that Newcastle had been watching him for several weeks.

“Keep an eye on [Noni] Madueke, in case of any good proposals,” he said on the Here We Go Podcast.

“He is not out of the project, but with some good offers, Madeuke’s situation may be open. For example, Newcastle has been expressing interest for weeks.”

Newcastle may be stuck with their right wing options for a while

It would be fantastic to see Newcastle strengthen at both centre-back and on the flank this summer.

However, the Premier League’s financial situation may prevent this from happening.

With Guehi appearing to be the major objective, the club’s ability to persuade Chelsea to reinforce a positional competitor for the upcoming season appears to be a pipe dream until they sell themselves.

If Newcastle cannot move undesired players soon, they may be limited to their current alternatives.
